remembrance RIDE

MaY 2025

22 May 2017

The Manchester Arena bombing.

22 lives lost in a terrorist attack that left a lasting mark on the city.

BIKER SUPPORT

The ride was organised by Biker Support, with members of Weekend Riders joining. Everyone gathered at J&S Motorcycle Accessories to begin the day.

Paul

He runs Dark City Projects, a biker-led initiative that supports medical cannabis users and advocates for better information and access.

The group bridges gaps left by official guidance, bringing riders and the wider community together for a shared cause.

Weekend Riders

bring together bikers of all levels from across Manchester and the North West.

With regular weekend ride-outs, casual meet-ups and a strong sense of community, the group welcomes everyone — from new 125cc riders to seasoned motorcyclists.

Kirkby

He was quite open with me, telling me about his recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and how he found religion.

He mentioned he can sometimes be found in Manchester city centre walking around with a cross.

substance abuse can be all-encompassing.

as someone who has found peace in sobriety, I respected his journey.

Its about showing respect

Wet weather discouraged some from turning up, but it wasn’t about the size of the crowd — it was about who could be there.

Michael Cox

Michael was one of the main organisers of this ride-out. His face told a story — I’d been wanting to photograph him for a while.

I’d not been on a ride-out to Manchester city centre before -

we really got everyone staring.

The Glade of Light Memorial

Once we arrived, the presence of the bikers drew everyone’s attention to the memorial. It was time to pay our respects.

Today was about remembering those who lost their lives during the attack -

together, as a community.
